Subject: The automation curve is going parabolic - Plus you can import help legally in the meantime

Northern IL
The local COOP around here found a way to legally hire persons of other nationality. These dairy farmers are just not good at properly hiring people. People like JohnSCKs think they are right on this, but in reality, they are just promoting giving away the Country. VISA holders and Greencard holders pay income tax. Illegals do not, and usually the employer should be accountable for the taxes. The American citizens pay taxes, illegals are not fair to the system are making the rest of us subsidize that dairy farm.

Currently the administration is:

Easing ICE Enforcement on Farms: In response to severe labor shortages, the administration indicated in June 2025 that it would temporarily "ease off" or pause Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids on agricultural, dairy, and hospitality businesses, allowing some undocumented workers to remain for the time being.
Expanding and "Streamlining" H-2A Visas: The administration has worked to increase the supply of legal foreign agricultural workers by making the H-2A visa process faster and more efficient. In late 2025, officials announced changes expected to allow over 500,000 seasonal workers into the country annually, a significant increase.
Lowering Labor Costs: The Department of Labor has moved to lower the minimum wage that farmers are required to pay to H-2A guest workers. A new rule allows for lower wage rates based on different surveys and permits deductions for housing costs, which is intended to save farmers roughly 25% on labor costs.
Proposed "Touchback" Policy: Trump has suggested a "touchback" program that would allow long-term, undocumented farmworkers to briefly leave the country and return legally if their employers vouch for them.
Encouraging Automation: Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has highlighted the long-term goal of replacing, or supplementing, human labor with increased automation in the agricultural sector.
