It wasn't so much that he was getting all the rent that he could, but his comment about how he had more than doubled the rent in 7 years and how peoples wages hadn't kept up with it.
What even makes the situation worse is the extra income tax required to pay the rent. $600 month rent. income tax to pay the rent would be around $3000 year, for a total of $10,000 year. Double the rent to $1200 month , required income tax to pay rent would be around $5000 for a total of about $20,000 year. |
