I know and like several married couples in that age range. I wouldn't call their spending habits necessarily prudent if independence and wealth are the goal. I'm not saying I always spend money in a proper way either. But, I think every generation as a group loses more of the scrimp now for a better future mentality that a lot of older people are now benefitting from.
