If you have kids helping raise them, here is big fact of life.

If your kids name any of these they wont go in the freezer. They become pets and kids will NOT eat a pet. PERIOD. Its hard to keep them from doing so

Better start early to reinforce that rule.
Calves are same way.


WRONG!!!

At my middle daughter's graduation we had hot beef from one of our cows, kids named her Mabel. My youngest daughter and her friend were getting something to eat. Daughter goes to her friend as she is taking a spoon of hot beef that is Mabel, so her friend sets it back down and reaches for a hotdog, daughter goes that is Mabel also! Not sure but I don't think her friend ate any meat that day LOL. Never bothered my kids, seems like they take a shine to a certian cow and it never fails that special cow ends up geting butchered or going down the road.
