| Winter of 1977 we had hogs out on stalks in a portable shelter. Came a blizzard. They had feed, but we needed to check waterer and get bedding to them, otherwise they might pile up to stay warm and a few might suffocate. Tried blading out the lane, but it would blow in again before we could break through with a tractor. Finally, we went back to the shed. Took a sheet of tin, bent up the front and attached a loop of baling wire. Two bales of straw; Dad pulled and I pushed. |
