Moose333 - 2/6/2026 10:21 2.40 lb is 4$ hanging 60% to finished meat gets you at 6.66$ a pound add a dollar for processing you are at 7.66 at least. Math may be fuzzy but should be close.

Just a question but does a "bully looking" finished steer get discounted by the packers?

I'm not sure exactly what "bully looking" means but hog packers discount the crap out of anything they suspect to be a boar.    By discount the crap out of, I mean the discount is to the tune of 80-90% off of full price.     The producer gets $20-40 for the hog instead of $200.

It will pass inspection as long as it’s not been a bull for a while, eating boar is an all together different experience.
