There are AI chips. I would think these are first gen so may not as good as the 3rd or 4th gen chips.
AI-powered laptops in 2025–2026 feature dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) or advanced AI engines integrated into the CPU (Intel Core Ultra, AMD Ryzen 8040/AI Max, Apple M4) to handle AI tasks locally for better privacy and speed. These chips accelerate features like real-time video background blur, voice commands, and image generation, often labeled as "Copilot+ PCs".
Key Aspects of AI Chips on Laptops
What They Do (NPU): Neural Processing Units (NPUs) are specialized, highly efficient cores designed specifically for machine learning, reducing the load on the CPU and GPU.
Key Benefits: They provide faster processing for AI tasks, improved privacy by running AI locally rather than in the cloud, and better power efficiency to extend battery life.
Common Use Cases: Real-time translation, background blur in video calls, AI-assisted photo editing (e.g., removing objects), and on-device intelligent search.
Leading Processors:
Intel: Core Ultra Series 2/3 (incorporating NPUs for AI Playground).
AMD: Ryzen 8040 series and Ryzen AI Max.
Apple: M4 chips powering Apple Intelligence.
Qualcomm: Snapdragon X Elite (used in Copilot+ PCs).
Popular Models: ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED, HP Spectre x360 14, Dell XPS 13, and Microsoft Surface Laptop.
