Driftless SW Wisconsin

In the future I think we will see more diesel/electric drive system in semis and farm equipment. I believe Deere and others are working on them now. Similar to train locomotives where a diesel engine drives a generator which powers electric motors driving the wheels.

Electric cars are a whole different ballgame. Most of our family miles go on our all electric 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV.  Longer trips with more people or a small trailer (such as our fishing boat) go on wife's Subaru AWD gas SUV. The cattle and hay trailers get pulled by a 2010 Dodge Cummins 3500 with close to 200,000 mi but currently just put maybe 500 mi per year on it.

Overall the Bolt does over 80% of our annual vehicle miles.

Once you drive a late model all electric car you will use it whenever you can.

Like many of us, I have a toolbox full of air tools that I can't remember last time I used them.

Milwaukee Fuel and the Bolt get used most. And whether the oil industry likes it or not, things are headed electric wherever appropriate.
