Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa | OP, most US cattle operations have nothing in common with the Texan cattle operators that make their living off of Mexican cattle, this is as old as time, just watch the old westerns they were doing it back then. Mexican eared cattle come over green and lanky and have room for feed, these guys have done well through the years with these cattle BUT there not US or Canuck type cattle and they doctor with stuff every day in Mexico that has long since been banned up here. As to Argentina, Big Trump supporter here but one that blew a gasket when he announced he was going to drive the cost of Beef down... THAT AINT MAGA... that mindset is Communism/Socialism in some cases, take money from me to give to someone else. OK if we close the border to Mexican cattle for a time, and the American cowherd isn't getting the job done to keep beef somewhat affordable... I question that as well, let certain countries boost imports. Argentina was just a shiny object that will have little effect while the screwworm shutdown is in place.... not much beef, can't remember how many days of US consumption it amounted to but not much, but leave it in place after Mexico and Brazil resume and it will cost me money. The bigger concern for me is purposely driving down profitability in one industry for the "greater good" and then let free capitalism work for everybody else.... I call BULL CHIT on that and in respectful terms I would to his face. |
