west-byGod-Pa. | So as to not hijack the previous post about sauerkraut, my favorite use for sauerkraut is as sauerkraut salad:
Per 28/30 oz. Can or bag:
Put in a pot & cook for 10 minutes.
Separately dice 1/2 cup EACH-onion, bell pepper, & celery
In a pot : 1/2 cup each of sugar, vegetable oil, & white .
vineagar. Heat & stir until sugar dissolves . Drain sauerkraut & dump into a bowl. Add all
The other ingredients & mix well. Cover & put in refrigerator overnight. Take it out & stir occasionally. Ready the next day. Oh, man is that good. Does not taste like sauerkraut or cabbage, but hard to have self-control on that stuff !
