Ya I don’t see how that much happens on feds. You’d be surprised what the bang of a mag and close distance to the nose will change one’s mind.
Only regret on BCs is not having them earlier. There needs to be more stockmanship learned in this business. I’m by no means an expert but little stuff and slowing down most of the time leads to big changes. It amazes me how inpatient people can get when holding up a set just to get there mind right before heading to the pens. It’s only time and doing one of the more enjoyable jobs, slow her down. Yes sometimes you gotta get with it.
Yes to all of this. We are training livestock every day they are around us. We need to realize what it takes to train them the right way. My experience a gritty BC is the best dog. Letting cows run 6 different directions when you gather tends to train them to do the same the next time. |
