Bull on the fight pasture loading = birdshot
Ringy cow trying to kill you = birdshot
The numbers don’t surprise me.
I’ve never been around someone herding with such techniques. Just last ditch self preservation use.
I have a 22 mag pocket pistol in my cantle bag and don’t remember the last time it was shot. It’s only going to change minds if they are in your personal space.

Now days I collect border collies, not the fine specimens you see gracefully herding sheep. More the lines of gritty if I have to I will chew your face off. Have 2, year olds that I’m about to start, one will go to a friend if he proves he can survive him. You get enough of those weird little dogs, cattle gathering turns more into trail riding and the help gets bored. I don’t like wild gatherings tho. Bored help=good gathering.
