Subject: RE: pros and cons of 996 new holland corn head

North Central Iowa

Basically the same head as the Case 2200 series.  The 996 is very close to the newer 96c and 98c heads, but I can't tell you what exactly has been changed between the models.  They are a much better head than the 974 NH corn heads.  I was looking for one last year for my TR97, but then ended up finding a Drago in my price range and that's what I really wanted.  There are heads out there for both the CR and TR machines, but the cost to convert between the two is pretty high according to the dealers I talked to - in the $3000 range to change a head for a CR to fit a TR.

Good Luck,

Mike
