oldtiger - 2/4/2026 14:00 Not quite 40 and attitudes change. Wait 20 years and ask yourself what happened. I'm still not sure if age makes us meaner...or knocks off the rough edges. I do know one thing, the older you get, at least for most of us, that bias against iron changes. I fed most of my life with a 4020, I can't do it anymore, and there's no shame in it. Just look at Jim with that side boom skidloader for how many cows? Don't fault him for a second Thanks for the kind words, oldtiger. I did winter feeding with a used, open station 100 hp NH7610 loader tractor for 12 years before buying the JCB track loader. Some folks look at that loader as excessive for 30 cows. However being in my 70's and creeping up on 80 there is definitely some positive ROI to a warm cab and not having to climb in and out over a grapple or icy bucket or under a bale to open a gate! Also there isn't a piece of equipment on my farm that I couldn't sell for near or more than it cost me.
