Eastern NE KS | Dad and I heard the same question when net was new in our area. I believe both net and net/wrapped bales use technologies that have a 'used by date'. With only net experience, I'm extrapolating to wrap as well when I say, hay stored outside is best used within a year - and perhaps within its first winter and spring.
If you want longer EXCELLENT storage than that, you need a barn that sheds rain and sits high enough that rain drains away from it.
