West Central Illinois | OT I think i found the article you're referencing, and yes they have some true points here but the conclusion isn't to abandon rotational grazing. The way I read it is like avoiding certain "pitfalls" when starting out. If a guys pastures are each 10 miles apart in different directions moving cattle daily will be nearly imposible to keep up with, weekly would be doable but still a good chore. The article also points out how having water infrastructure placed in the right areas is more important than fencing and I completely agree, if you only have 1 or 2 sources of water on a pasture there's only so much you can do cutting it up into paddocks. Lastly it references how individual animal pounds weaned may not go up but total pounds weaned per acre does go up, but isn't that what we're chasing? Profit per acre?
