SW WI | I love seeing the old railroad grades. The expense that went into past lines, at the time of building, can be staggering for the time…..and now they’re gone.
One of the first rail to trail projects in the country ( Sparta - Elroy ) is near me. I remember, as a kid, going to a JD dealer where the road to get there traveled right aside of the old bed. I told my dad as a 5 year old I wish I could buy that and make it a railroad, again……still do.
