I chop a bag of oats and peas every year. I use Goliath oats and I'm going to use a forage pea this year, seems like the variety is 4010? It makes good feed. I let the oats get about headed out and cut. It needs mowed and get a little wilt before the chopper gets there. It doesn't handle in the loader bucket like corn silage, a grapple is about a must
