I put out 8 mixed bales for my 70 fall cow herd so calves can eat also.
The cows eat 3rd cutting first, then millet, then the 2nd or 3rd cutting alfalfa.
as another poster above experienced, I also had a bale the cows wouldn't touch. Took it back out of the bale ring and rolled it completely out on the ground and the cows then cleaned it up- go figure.
