SE Michigan | IN 1986 I bought a new Ford Ranger. I was in College at the time and this was perfect for me. Paid $7100 out the door with my dad's Ford A plan discount. I drove it till 1989 when I got my first (and last ....LOL - retired after 36+ years) job that came with a company car. I put the Ranger up for sale in front of the house. Had a guy stop my and look at it, he asked about the engine and I told him it was a fuel injected 2.3L 4cyl. He gave me a dirty look and said "I don't want any of that fuel injected crap" and got in his car and left.
Had a good laugh after he left. My Job at that time was an Engineer at Bosch working on fuel injectors and related components.
