Subject: RE: Casey's coffee,

Wife and i toured a coffee plantation in costa rica several years ago. Very interesting tour and process. Workers stay in compounds, and get paid by the basket load they wear around the waist. one basket is either 26 or 28 pounds cant remember which. a coffee beans has 3 layers, by the time the bean itself is seperated, a basket yields 6 pounds of beans. Their was an undergound silo full of water with bins and spouts that directed the whole beans into the water. The highly desireable beans will not float, and are seperated off and thusly earn the label "100% Arabica". Our tour guide then made the funny comment the floaters are skimmed off and sold to gas stations in america. This would be your typical Folgers type stuff. so whatever you buy, make sure it is labeled 100% arabica, and go from there. Ive found the bags of Donut shop brand to be very good, at a decent price. If youve had a cup at an actual Donut Shop, its good stuff with a glazed donut. Yummy. My suggestion is go to Sams club coffee section. Lots of choices, and they display price in cents per ounce to give a very easy way to discern value. Some brands are kinda rediculous in price, the donut shop is a great value.
