The fundamentals for silver have not changed, so when the paper price gets massively manipulated, like yesterday, the basis will do the work. Not that different from Ag commodities when the paper price disconnects from the local markets. One big difference is that silver is easy and cheap to transport to wherever the physical bid is highest, compared to Ag commodities.
This is why I like the silver miner stocks over other ways to invest in silver. The miners are not participating in the paper market, and instead they sell to the physical market, anywhere in the world wherever the bid is highest. As long as the physical market holds up, like it should, these miners have no worries for the folly taking place in the paper market. | |
