Penn Yan, NY | I don’t think you can say that in such blanket terms. If Electric vehicles were available that were not all premium $80,000+ they would have more takers.
There are quite a few of the base model Ford Lightnings around here, they were available for $57,000 the last year they were offered and were a good fit for certain customers and the price worked. The problem was that you had to special order the base model, dealers only stocked the $83,000 king ranch edition.
Same has happened to Tesla. You can buy a Chevy bolt or a plug in hybrid for $30-$35 why would you buy a $80,000 Tesla.
All of this on top of the core customer base for Tesla being people who were turned off by DOGE
