Southern Missouri
True but you don’t have to put everything in an irrevocable at one time or ever if you don’t want to , there is the carrot and the stick over the benefactors, a little food for thought if your in the consideration mode for these things , the person your child / children marry , how to take care of them when putting in writing how much goes straight on to grandchildren and how much goes to the in law in event of your child’s death or incapacitation , And how will they look at you from the day everything is signed and they know how much goes to them and how much goes straight on to the grandchildren. At What age do the grandkids have the ability to do whatever the heck they want to with what becomes theirs ? If your relationships are all good , real good , strong conversations will probably happen. Talk about not wanting to run things from the grave and actually not running things from the grave , I certainly don’t have any answers there but you’ll need to come up with those answers and cross your fingers . And just because it’s irrevocable there are some questions/ things such as I mentioned here can be modified without that in law or grandchild, did I mention there’s a lot to it ?
