On their way to Greenland as we type...they set sail two days aga...some ships might be there already.
Orion 26 is a major, large-scale joint and combined military exercise led by France from February to April 2026. It involves 12,500 troops, 25 ships, and 140 aircraft, featuring the Charles de Gaulle carrier strike group in the North Atlantic. The exercise focuses on high-intensity warfare, involving NATO partners to enhance operational readiness and crisis management.
Too bad the French don't a have a couple of Ford class CVN's.
The DE Gaulle has about half the capability of our Nimitz class and cannot launch and recover A/C simultaneously.
But it is great to see the Europeans and the Turks serious about exercising their militaries. | |
