One poster touched on the subject a bit, but what I see is some members of a family would be ruined if they received a six figure check.
Others would do well with it.
You don't want to leave anyone out, but some folks getting a chunk of money would probably kill them. What does a guy do then?
Put another way, the ones that need help in middle age, will squander your gift, the ones that will take care of your gift and use it to build with , don't need the money any way. Carve them out and bypass them, their share to the next generation if he p/she has one, limiting them to lifetime use only. they can never sell or even place a mortgage on the property. Only income beneficiary and thats it. That will keep them from getting in much trouble.
