Recaptured depreciation is not subject to SE tax. So, if you were ever to sell those tires as a seperate item, you would want them depreciated instead of expensed. If you plan to sell them on the tractor, then it probably doesn't make a difference, unless you sell the tractor for more than you paid, then you would want them expensed so you could use the gain as capital gain.
