Marty Strange's comments about ideal farm size are just as true today as they were then, even as the size of an average farm has probably quadrupled around here since the 1980s.
The 80s were different though. Sure, farmers are still at the mercy of market forces, government decisions, and weather like in that era, but the ability to manage risk via crop insurance has really changed row crop farming.
