I absolutely despise the "fair isn't equal and equal isn't fair" comment. I feel really sorry for those buying into that nonsense. The primary goal for any plan should be to keep the family together and I can't think of a quicker way to destroy your family than to give one kid $5 million and the others $500,000. (quote)

I would say that your example is not honest, it is neither equal or fair. Part of the problem now days is that the farms are too big to easily pass on and treat everyone somewhat equally and still be fair to everyone. Kids are all wired differently, but some of the problems go back to how they were raised and treated over the years.
