As a parent of elementary kids at the time, we and many other parents were concerned how kids would process the tragedy, since it had been so strongly hyped and covered and publicized to the schools due to Christa McAulliff's involvement. We were all being gentle, kinda soft-pedalling the whole deal. And then the kids come home the 2nd day after the explosion with the most disgusting and inappropriate bunch of jokes anyone could ever imagine. Guess that's how they processed it!!Â
