| I was told that any component that extended the useful life of the equipment should be depreciated. I.E Truck rear ends, overhauls, etc.
That being said, the exception was for example, a large trucking company. Odds are good if you have 100 trucks , you will be buying the same number roughly of rear ends a year, so they can be expensed.
With 179, it comes out the same either way.
I do think tires can be depreciated if you bought a set.
