coast of Maine | Many more autos are registered say then 40 years ago .There are few multi occupant units on the highways.Much more freight moves on the highways every day as well.Then you have the minor if any improvement in the infrastructure .Couple that with being the richest country (as far as disposable income)that allows people to increase their time out and about ,,,eating/shopping.You then have the seemingly anthill of activity.It is one huge machine-the USA economy. | |
