On my farm we have terrible erosion on land that has never, ever been farmed or grazed.
Driving through the great plains you notice many terribly eroded hills caused by Bison using the same trails over the centuries that are now deep gullies and ravines.
Keeping soil in place will always be a challenge.
Where do you think in SW WI has never ever been grazed? And how old are you? I'd have thought everything had been grazed for many decades by the 1930's when there started to be more control of grazing. |
