| Wife and I was in college. I had two brother in laws working at Mortin Thiokol Corporation. My wife left college early in 1987' as the push was to get back in space as fast as we could. She went to work there. She's still employed there now its Northrup Grumman. We've seen a lot of the political side of the program. Back in that time frame for every dollar spent in space, it returned forty-five dollars return on investment. All the technology we take for granted today, came about because of the space program.
From cell phones, plastics, adhesives, computers, etc. It spurred the delvopment of these products. The bottom line is riding a rocket ship is strapping yourself to a big firecracker. The propellant used in rocket motors is some hot stuff. Just contacting metal some of those propellant will explode.
