| Honest question: do the parents want a generational farm ( passed on for generations) or do they look at it like an investment that will be cashed out at some point?
Yes leaving it to all the children can still lead to a generational farm, but it creates a lot of hurdles for the next generation.
But if it is just an investment, that makes it easier to leave it to all. Just make sure to set it up as an LLC so that members have an exit plan that doesn't destroy one members dreams. | |
