Pittsburg, Kansas | I recovered at home a month or two. After they quit draining my right lung and that finally stopped and I got the ok that I could fly in a pressure cabin airplane, decided I could recover in Bonaire just as well as stuck inside a house in the winter at home.
Couldn't get anyone to say ok to dive. Said could be ok or maybe not. Told myself would give it a month down here before trying. I made it two weeks. Couldn't stand it any more. First dive to ten feet for ten or fifteen minutes. No death or blood cough up. Next day 20 feet for 30 minutes. No death yet. Couple more days of deeper and longer. Felt great. So scuba diving was the remaining physical therapy for my broken ribs. They still hurt, but not bad enough to keep me from scuba diving.
My own version of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing 32% Nitrox).
