It has been since 21....
I was without blood loss, and the dramatic part of the event was perceived in slow-motion later. About 1/2 mile away, I could see a pickup chasing a vehicle at a high speed, and when nearer, he tried to pass this vehicle on the road's gravel shoulder. He passed them, and then turned his steering wheel too much, and came across the road diagonally--hit rearward passenger area of motorcycle as I was headed into the ditch to get out of his way---and then pickup went into the ditch and rolled several times. I lost consciousness, and rolled into a fence.
The old adage of “if you fall off the horse, get right back on" assisted in my memory recall, but overcoming the fear of riding again was challenging. Perception wise, roadways got smaller in width, and vehicles/semi-trucks got bigger. I had to fight this perception demon. |
