I could care less about the micros since i dont trust their processes of extraction. As well as i dont think its usable data. Im getting OM, ph, p, k, salts, base sat, cec, and zinc.
Sounds like you are all set up to do it so go for it.
I’ll throw you an idea that may make you at least understand why I think over sampling is a waste of resources.
On one of your grids take 6 samples total. Take 1 sample from each side/corner. Then also take one sample from the middle per usual but pull enough cores to mix and then bag 2 separate samples from that center sample. Total of 6 for that one acre grid. See what the variation is. And if you wanna get real wild. Do that same process in the same grid in the fall and spring and look at variation there too.
Do I think soil testing has as much sample and testing error and aflatoxin in corn. No. But I also think it’s more crude than we realize.
