Lower Indiana Hill Country | I have been using cover crops for the past 7 years. Plant green, then use a cultipacker at a slight angle to knock growth down enough to spray and then spread dry fertilizer. This year I drilled 15lb spring oats, 15 lb barley, 2lb crimson clover and 1 lb turnips. Send email if you want to further discuss. I use a drill to try and regain the 2 extra weeks delay that broadcasting seed takes to sprout versus drilled. There are many good reasons to plant cover crops, be sure ground is dry enough to work before you start field work. Also used a drone on 1 field and put 10lb of very small seeds on.
