Im wanting to do a 1 acre grid on flat high productive heavy soil and alot of people are telling me im going to waste money because the soil doesnt vary enough. So was wondering if someone else has done it and seen any variability. Thanks
We are in Northeast Nebraska and we did a bunch in North Dakota last year when you had 16" of frost up there. We do earthoptics sampling which. We do samples every 5 acres and then have a special scanner where we drive every 60' in the field stand it will paint a high resolution nutrients map in 30' by 30' grids. We usually charge $17 for that and along with that $17 we will pull separate samples in 20 acre zones and run soil DNA analysis that will id disease, pests, biology and pathogens. Pests like rootworm and nematodes are on that test. So basically figure $17/acre and mileage and $130 a night for hotels depending on how much we have to sample
