| Here's a couple pictures of corn being planted this last spring into rye that was drilled on 10" spacing at about 30lbs per ac. This ended up being the highest yield this fields has ever achieved. We have done corn into big rye several times and never had anything close to a crop failure and honestly quite often the opposite result. 1 thing that I think gets overlooked when planting corn into a cover crop is the history of the field. Where we do it and have success is in our long term cover cropped fields. In these fields our soil biology is likely much higher than just a long term no-till field. That big cover crop for the 1st time on a field is likely a shock to your soil function.
