Subject: RE: Command herbicide?

East Central Arkansas
After the Command formulation was changed I am pretty sure most of those drift problems went away. That and the knowledge to use the correct tips. Back in about 96 they somehow discovered if you used dysiston insecticide in furrow while planting cotton that Command could be used behind the planter as a pre herbicide. If you didn't get the insecticide in furrow or the correct rate you ended up with white dying seedling cotton. This was before it even had a cotton label but I think maybe by the second year had received a Section 18 local label. Command really showed up on pecans trees bad.
This was before many folks thought anything about drift control and using the right tips and pressures. Ended up with the label calling for a raindrop type tip.
A good bit of Command used for rice. Listening to a podcast presented by U of A Extension just recently Command was mention for soybean production. I believe it was Tea Weed ( Prickly Sida ) they were saying it was really good on and certain grasses.
