coup - 1/25/2026 12:56  Even if land is 40% of production of COP it is still the minority of COP. Lets say total COP with land cost is $750 acre @ 40% = $300 acre land cost. Reducing COP by 15% x $750= $112.50 acre. Reducing land rent by 15% = $45 acre. Land rent cost is not the biggest problem in the equation it is the other 60% of the equation that is the bigger issue.



You're trying to ignore the single largest cost in farming and pin all of the blame on seed and fertilizer which together add up to less $'s/acre than land cost does.     Cut both of those 15% and it will be less than $40 saving combined.      The only way to save 15% on the budget is to cut EVERYTHING 15%.


BTW, you're rent numbers from the previous post are more like 50%+ of the gross income.    That is not sustainable without govt indirectly subsidizing land owners.
