20 miles west of Indianapolis Indiana | I was told the same by someone pretty sharp. (It was either coup or weedman). Kinda made me realize the generic quilt isn’t all poor of a choice to use.
These companies get good results adding a proprietary AI to off patent AI and make you think they have something special. I had tar spot come back like 22 days after application (it was the first time I had rescouted it in like 10 days). Took 2 days scouting and called the salesman, so 24 days after app. He said they would have covered something on a respray at 21 days. So for $4.50 ish I got some generic quilt and lined up a drone guy.
After that talked to coup and weedman quite a bit both about what was doing the heavy lifting in Veltyma. I had some later planted corn that was sprayed after the fist planted that had 10 oz Veltyma before I found the tar come back in the fist sprayed at 7. That corn did pretty good considering planted later and on the ground it was on. But once I did the math I was money ahead at 2 apps of generic and 2 app fees than the 10 oz of v. I also include a couple micros that 1 I think is better to be on 2X rather then 1. And I just cut the rate in 1/2 each app so no extra cost. Plus can do this all cheaper buying from anyone rather than the local retailer lining up the helicopter. Have ended up with a great relationship with the drone guy. I’m one of the first guys he hits because or getting on it early with 2 passes and we just reschedule a second app that same day 21 days later barring weather. I pre pay him in Jan/feb to get a better price and lock in him coming. Hes shared my experience with others and doing some more 2X with in 2026. I hope one of the passes is worthless, but being proactive isn’t as expensive as it can save you. I’m $17 with fung and app and drift/sticker. $34 twice. Add insect if you think viable to the first pass. Second pass is past worth it. And I add my 2 micros to both passes. |
