Southeast Colorado | So along this dairy cow talk...........have any of you heard the proposal being floated around to give the dairy farmers $1600-$2000 to cull their cows? It's supposed to help alleviate poor milk prices while cheapening up beef.
What the hell? The big dairy here is THRIVING. They are gobbling up land, drilling irrigation wells, basically just rolling over everyone. And now they are going to get paid great prices for culling the cows plus a $2k bonus for each??
This proposal is just that. It hasn't been passed yet. But the wheels are getting greased. | |
