Up until this winter there were lots of calves run on straight cornstalks with a little supplement, looking for big compensatory gains going on grass. Haven't seen nearly as many but we are really dry and the prospects for early spring grass not looking real good. Given that and the price of feed compared to all cattle prices, I'm thinking that they went straight on feed. But then there is also the thought that they just don't exist in the numbers they once did.
