Wow, We went from 140 bu corn in 1980 To 210 bu corn today Most all of this is from higher populations and genetics that support the higher populations. 50 bu soybeans in 1980 To 65 bu soybeans today. Again this is from genetics.
My numbers for 1980 could be a bit off as i wasnt alive then but seem to remember dad saying around 50 bu corn was normal. I think this far north was probably a long way behind you guys in the I states back then. I remember our first corn crop to hit 150 bu sometime around 2005 or so and 250 bu was probably 2012 or so. I dont think we have improved much in the past 10 years.
