Southern Missouri | This is a very good string of answers to a very good question brought up by Davy , one of the few times anymore here that it doesn’t just go to finger pointing and sillyness. I feel like I can say that things folks are wondering about here have headed to coming to a point a little quicker in the southern U S than in the land of corn and beans . It’s operating loan time and bankers are running scared , real scared from cotton and rice , I heard of an operation here this morning putting equipment up for sale that I wouldn’t have dreamed of and the problem is that type of equipment that’s geared more towards southern cotton and rice growing is selling very very cheap and anyone that doesn’t think every banker around here knows what those machines that are the same as listed on balance sheets of their borrowers is kidding themselves. Next thirty days around the Midsouth looks to maybe be very interesting , just saw U S farm report do another little article on their show about it . As I pointed out a few days ago , can land sales in our area maintain the values they continue to show ? That’s the part still not rearing its head at all , can that continue in this coming to a point time for the Midsouth? Might be worth watching. Sorry to rattle on , I usually skip the long posts :)
