I haven’t seen purchasing power going down with the dollar. There’s alot of that talk recently but a quarter pounder with cheese at McDonald’s has remained unchanged for quite some time now. My cell phone bill has remained unchanged for some time now. The gas station where I buy bottled Coca Cola with real cane sugar has remained unchanged for some time now. Gas prices haven’t really increased for some time now. Fertilizer prices, while unbelievably high, haven’t risen more in some time now, although they certainly fluctuate.

I mean. The dollar isn’t buying as much gold as it used to but that’s not on my list of monthly expenses.

Tariffs have increased the price of certain groceries it seems but I wouldn’t say that’s the same as dollar losing purchasing power. Tariffs can easily be removed

Also the dxy chart shows a 200 3 month moving average of around 98. And while the purchasing power of the dxy may have risen in past couple years because of high interest rates no one really talked about that. Now that it’s fallen back to the moving average everyone is saying how weak the dollar is. And I’m just not seeing that.

Quarter pounder with cheese really has remained flat for a couple of years now. And that’s a great measure imo of inflation
