Subject: RE: What is this so called bullet proof transmission? ^^^^^^^^

Southeast Washington
Sometimes I say things to see if anyone really reads what I write.

In our case the electric shift transmission just wouldn't stay in the detents and locked in gear like the lever shifted earlier models. We either had to rebuild or replace every year from the damage.

Gleaner was working with software updates to make sure it stopped in the proper place. Our dealer worked on shimming up the shift rail so it had to stop at the detent. Supposedly the 24's had the latest update and should be good. An S98 that began harvesting before us had the transmission go out right away so the shims were added before we started and we have never had a problem with the electric shift transmission after adding the shims on any of our electric shift transmissions. Had a friend in Australia that was having issues with his transmission shifting. He came and visited during harvest a couple years ago and so he shimmed his and has been working great ever since.

I just grabbed this picture to show you our shims.
